Netbook Reviews - Acer Aspire One Aod255-2509

The Acer Aspire One Aod255-2509 is one of those 2010 laptops that stood out for all the right reasons. This amazingly thin and incredibly versatile unit was one of my favorites from the past year because it offered all imaginable in one package. With a 10.1-inch Led-backlit display and a gaggle of extra features sure to make your friends jealous, this is one attention-grabbing tool you'll want to show off.

Specs, Baby, Specs

1gb

So if you understanding other computers had it good, the Acer One is here to turn hearts and minds. Beginning with a sturdy 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N450 processor and together with a 160Gb hard drive clocked at 5,400rpm, the Acer Aspire One Aod255-2509 is something for the ages.

1Gb of Ddr2 Ram and integrated Intel graphics make your dreams come true in real color and real style, while the amazingly clear Crystal Eye web-cam, a 1.3 megapixel beauty, will forward images of your gorgeous face to the world at large.

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon Now Touch Me, Baby

One of the neatest things the Acer One includes is a multi-gesture touch-pad. Now I know: multi-gesture touch-pads are coarse and roughly every store laptop worth its salt features one. But the Acer Aspire One Aod255-2509 features something a petite dissimilar with its touch-pad in that it can unquestionably be disabled with one button. It's a very versatile touch-pad, too, allowing for pinching and squeezing and all sorts of hand motions. We're still talking about the touch-pad, right?

More Fun

This contract beauty includes Windows 7 Starter for good measure, offering a complement of programs and applications that you'll find to be a lot of fun. The 64-bit version includes things like Jump Lists and best taskbar controls, enabling for improved pilotage nearby your new Acer One.

Windows Anytime Upgrade is also included, allowing the chance to move on up in the world to other versions of the beloved and incredibly Windows 7 O/S.

Virtual machine Memory

I love the idea of using one uncostly computer to setup multiple operating systems as virtual machines and testing server and workstation operating systems. However, the biggest concern with this scenario is the sheer cost of the memory required.

Hard drive space is not an issue. With 1Tb drives dropping to sub 0 Usd, drive space for.Vhd or virtual hard drives isn't a problem. However, what ordinarily happens is you leave maybe 2Gb of space for the host machine. Now the host machine is the first operating ideas you setup on to the computer. For example I may setup Microsoft Windows 2003 R2 as my host operating system. It is 64 bit and very stable. Then I setup software such as the free version of Vmware server. This forms the basis for all of my other operating systems.

1gb

Each guest operating ideas then becomes a new computer. They can and are most useful when installed at the same time to see how they interact with each other. Say I want to see how to setup and test a network of 3 servers and 2 workstations, then I can setup 3 guest server operating systems and 2 client workstation operating systems and run them all at the same time... Assuming I have enough memory... This is the catch.

You do not need as much memory in a test scenario as you do in real life, but you also do not want the ideas to run like a dog either. For example if I had 2 domain controllers running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and gave them 1Gb of memory each, then installed an additional one version of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and transfer Server 2010 mailbox, hub transport and client access server roles and gave the virtual machine 6Gb of memory, and installed two machines running Windows 7 expert with 1Gb of memory each then I would need at least 12Gb of memory all up.

Some test environments may test even more servers and therefore need even more memory. Recently Kingmax and Kingston have come out with 2 x 4Gb Ddr3 memory modules for only 9.00 Usd. This means if my motherboard supports 4 memory slots, I can setup 16Gb of Ddr3 1333Mhz memory for my test server for only 0.00 Usd. An absolute agreement inspecting what you will or could be running with this memory.

I have seen some Gigabyte motherboards supporting 6 memory slots and capable of supporting 24Gb of memory. Now that would make a great virtual machine combined with these cheap large capacity 1Tb and 2Tb hard drives and a descent quad core Cpu!

Plug Into the Big Grid

Of all the sweeping changes that Microsoft have made to Excel 2007 the one that has got people most excited is the hugely increased capacity of the workbook. The Big Grid, as it is known, offers over a million rows per spreadsheet - as opposed to 65,536 in Excel 2003 - and increases the amount of columns from 256 to a incredible 16,384. This incredible upgrade provides users with the capability to create practically limitless spreadsheets.

But such enormity of screen space counts for nothing if the other interconnected specifications cannot compete with it. Happily Microsoft have remedied this inherent problem by also addition the limits on a whole range of other features within Excel 2007.

1gb

One of the biggest concerns when working with a vastly increased amount of data is either there will be sufficient memory for it all to be retained. What is the point in creating sprawling, overall spreadsheets if inadequate memory means you have to replicate the same formulae time and time again? With this in mind the usable memory in Excel 2007 has doubled from 1Gb to 2Gb meaning that formulas and those all prominent pivot tables need never be lost to the ether.

Excel's smart recalculation motor is one of the most valued components of the whole program, minimising the response time of calculations by only recalculating cells and formulae that have changed and doing so in the fastest inherent sequence. However, in old versions of Excel this installation was miniature by the amount of dependent cells in a given area. In Excel 2007 there is no such cell dependency with only lack of usable memory acting as a wall to smart recalculation. And since the memory has doubled in size that singular limitation should not cause too much concern.

Sorting is a similarly fundamental function in Excel as many professionals are working with complicated sets of data that want both constant refining and analysing under varying criteria. With the introduction of the Big Grid the possibilities for ever more multi-layered lists are truly mind boggling which is why Microsoft have increased the amount of sorting levels from 3 to 64. This allows for enhanced convention lists and much more sophisticated methods of data organisation.

Many other specifications and facilities have expanded to match up to the Big Grid. The length of drop down lists has grown from 1,000 to 10,000 while maximum method length has leapt from 1,000 to 8,000. The amount of arguments in a function has swelled to 255 and array formulas are now only restricted by available memory.

These greatly increased specifications have shattered the expectations of what Excel can do. Greater capacity brings with it greater sophistication which all professionals would be wise to take advantage of. Any way much you may think you know about Excel it would be very beneficial to enroll on a training course which can open your eyes to the wonders of the 2007 program. Only then can you truly make the most of the Big Grid.

Windows 7 Requirements

Windows 7 is the most recent version of Microsoft Windows for computers like laptops, desktops, net books, and media center, among others. Since it is the latest, it offers more features than its predecessor. Before a user can use Windows 7, however, there are determined principles requirements that need to be fulfilled first.

Listed below are the minimum requirements for Windows 7 that was released last January.

1gb

- 1Gb of Ram
- 1Ghz processor (can be 64-bit or 32-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics (with 128 Mb memory)
- 16 Gb memory space of disk space

On the other hand, below is a list of the requirements for Windows 7 principles requirements that was released last April.

- 1Gb or 2Gb of Ram
- 1Ghz processor (64-bit or 32-bit)
- 20 Gb disk space for 64-bit and 16 Gb disk space for 32-bit
- DirectX9 graphics device

Windows 7 is indeed available in 6 editions. However, as of now, only Professional, Home and extreme editions are sold to consumers in most areas. The remaining editions target a different store like those complex in an enterprise. Each edition of Windows 7 is of course packed with different features for the varying needs of its target computer users.

All editions of Windows 7 keep 32-bit processor architecture. Meanwhile, all editions with the exclusion of Home Basic and Starter keep the 64-bit processor architecture. As for the premise media, all are the same for the buyer editions of this Windows 7.

In essence, Microsoft is selling Windows 7 as a way to simplify one's computer unit. However, it should be made clear that different editions of Windows 7 are available to acknowledge to the different needs of the computer users. For instance, the Starter edition is ideal for net books, while the Home Basic is apparently for home users. Pro edition is for firm people.

Windows 7 also offers an involving interface. If you want to do more with your computer, you should possibly reconsider installing Windows 7 on it. According to Microsoft, Windows 7 could indeed be considered the refined version of the Windows Vista that is earlier released. The makers of Windows 7 also promised less problems with it comes to compatibility.

Upgrading Computer Onboard Video

In a former article, I explained how to upgrade a video card and promised to interpret how to upgrade video that is onboard your computer, or shared so to speak.

Onboard/integrated/shared video memory is taken from your main computer memory(Ram). So if your computer has 256Mb of shared video memory, and your computer has 1Gb of Ram, your computer allocates 256Mbs of it's 1Gb to your video. Which basically means your computer has 768Mbs remaining for the rest of it's functions.

1gb

First off, most computers that have shared memory are regularly lower end machines. So they may not have an available slot for an actual hardware video card upgrade.

With that said, you have two options to upgrade. If you have an available slot, you can add a video card. If not, you can add Ram to the computer and growth the allocated video memory amount in the theory Bios. Whether way, you will need to make a change in the theory Bios. If you are not comfortable with that, then stop reading this article. The Bios can be a risky place if you don't know what you are doing.

If you have an available Pci, Agp, or Pci Express slot for a video card, setup your new card in the available slot. (see my other report "Upgrade Computer Video Card" for a best explanation)

Important: Do Not Switch The Monitor Vga Cable To The New Video Card Yet

Power up your computer and Windows will detect the card and prompt you to setup the software if not done automatically. When that is completed, shut down your computer and switch the monitor Vga cable to the new card.

Now you need to enter the Bios and disable the onboard video to avoid conflicts with your new video card. Turn on your Pc and hit Whether F10 or F2 on most computers to enter the Bios, there's regularly a list along the bottom of the first screen (black with white lettering), look for the one that says Setup, and hit the button it refers to.

Once in the Bios navigate nearby using the arrow keys on the keyboard, look for onboard video and disable it by highlighting it and hitting one of the arrow keys. I can't tell you exactly where it is, or what key to hit as there are so many different Bios set ups. It's fairly easy to find though. Once you make the change, hit fly to exit, and save changes if asked to do so. That's it, enjoy your new video card upgrade.

Now, if you don't have an available slot you can still upgrade your video memory. You can simply enter the Bios and allocate more theory Ram to video memory or upgrade your theory Ram, then allocate more to video. I will interpret upgrading theory memory in a time to come article. In the Bios, look for Video Memory or Video Memory funds or a similar term. Make the changes you prefer, I would do more than doubling what it is now. If it's 128, make it 256.

Not all systems will permit this change. You may also want to reconsider that spending money on a video card or added memory for a low end computer may not be worth it. A decent video card runs in the middle of 0-0. Ram is nearly the same depending on your system.

Disadvantages Of Playing Video Games

Games have come to be part of our daily lives, and admit it or not, your day won't be unblemished without playing your beloved diversion However, parents need to keep an eye on their children while playing games. Yes, game addiction may not be as harmful as alcohol or drug addiction but game addiction is still a type of addiction.

Today, approximately everybody has their own personal computer and video consoles. Children today are more attached to games compared to television. The Internet provides them with thousands of games to choose from and can vary from educational, to developing qoute solving skills, and even becoming a criminal. Although this is just a play, our children still need proper advice when it comes to violent recreations.

1gb

Aside from violence, other disadvantage of being addicted to games is that they are becoming very addicted to games up to the point that they will even skip school just to play their beloved match. Some citizen will even skip meals just to play, which we all know is not good for one's health. The modern world health discover shows that the number of obesity is expanding exponentially and the number one theorize for this is gaming.

People who are too attached with games forget about their health, they stop exercising and eat junk foods while playing. The worst part is, some citizen are too addicted with this recreation that they forget about the contrast of real life and in-game life, and this is the effect why there are children who are performing "out of this world" acts.

If you don't want these things to happen to your children, you need to guide them and limit their time for playing games. Although these games may be helpful for them sometimes, the risks of them getting addicted to games are too high, and you, as a parent, should be responsible for their health and well-being.

Laptop Buying Guide - Which Laptop Should I Buy?

You may have spent a fortune on that brand new laptop. But technology is evolving at a fast pace, and your laptop will invariably feel old in a couple of years. It is, therefore, imperative that you buy a model you will be comfortable with for as long as you want to keep it.

Basic Laptops
Before buying a notebook make a realistic estimate of your requirements. Are you a compulsive gamer? Do you tend to watch lots of Hd video on your computer? Most users have pretty minute needs that expand only to web surfing and word processing. Any laptop available in the store can meet these requirements. So there is no need to spend thousands of dollars on a high end machine. Besides cost, the other factors that need to be determined are portability and usability.

1gb

Do you trip a lot? movable professionals need a thin and light motor they can carry around. Netbooks are a good option for them. These machines are incredibly popular now. They are ultraportable with 9 or 10 inch screens. Another infer behind the popularity of netbooks is their price. These are cheap computers. But buying a netbook isn't a very involving idea if the motor is intended to be your primary computer. Compared to mainstream laptops, netbooks have much less remarkable hardware. And the small screen size may strain your eyes if you use it for extended periods.

Upgrading
Upgrading a laptop isn't totally impossible, but it isn't very easy either. All laptops have some parts that cannot be replaced at all because they are soldered to the motherboard. Chief among the components that can't commonly be replaced are Cpu and Graphics cards. There are of policy some parts that can be replaced and they comprise hard drive and Ram.

Laptop Components
Laptop components are mini versions of their desktop counterparts. They are pricier than desktop components, but they aren't necessarily more powerful. In fact, laptops tend to be less remarkable than desktops. This is because laptop components commonly run at slower speeds so as to reduce heat build-up inside the chassis.

Processor/Cpu
The processor/Cpu inside a computer has the many impact on theory speeds. Intel and Amd are currently the leading Cpu manufacturers. There are other chip-makers too, but they commonly cater to the lower-end of the spectrum. Intel processors deliver slightly good execution than Amd processors, but they are also pricier than their Amd counterparts.

Graphics Card/Gpu
The graphics card/Gpu is an integral part of a gaming laptop. If you are not an avid gamer, then you don't have to buy a laptop with a assorted Gpu. But remember that having a Gpu will be helpful while running photo and video editing applications and playing Hd video. If you tend to play a lot of games, you should buy a laptop with a assorted Ati or Nvidia graphics. Intel processors commonly come with an integrated graphics clarification such as the Gma950 or 4500Mhd, but these are roughly useless for playing graphics rich modern games.

Ram (Memory)
Ram stands for Random entrance Memory. Having adequate Ram is very important for getting good execution from your laptop. For instance, you will not be able to run manifold applications simultaneously if you do not have adequate Ram. So how much Ram is necessary? Well, it depends upon your exact needs. Most netbooks come with 1Gb of Ram. Higher-end models will commonly have 3Gb or 4Gb of Ram. Laptops with 8Gb and 16Gb of Ram are also available at the moment. 1Gb of Ram is commonly adequate if you are an average user.

Storage
How much storehouse space you need depends upon how you use the computer. If you only store spreadsheets and your office documents, you will not need much space. But if you use your laptop to store movies, music and photos you will need to buy a model with a large hard drive. Basic laptops commonly come with 80Gb or 160Gb hard drives. Pricier models with 500Gb or 640Gb of hard drives are also available.

If you have a iPad 3G tablet, you will need to invest in a extra iPad Micro Sim Card. These are separate to the acceptable movable phone Sim Cards and have been made just for the iPad gadget. We are lucky in the Uk, as we have lots of options available to us at this time.

You can get a iPad Sim card on the 3 mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodafone network providers at this moment in time. All of these movable network providers offer slightly separate deals, which is good for the consumer, as this gives them more choice.

If you go for a Sim deal on the 3 movable network, you have the opening to sign up for a 1 month rolling covenant that offers whether 1Gb or 10Gb on monthly usage. On the Vodafone network, it is slightly different. They have 1 month contracts other whether 1Gb, 3Gb or 5Gb which offers a microscopic more variation. Alternatively, you could go for a O2 plan. O2 have a better range of deals as they also offer 1 day contracts in expanding to the acceptable 1 month plans. The best for variety would have to be Orange. Orange have two Sim card deals on 1 month contracts, one plan on a 1 week covenant and they also have a 1 day contract.

The option of a 1 week or 1 day 3G iPad Sim card is de facto good for customer who are unsure of if it will work for them. Because the short term Sim deals are relatively cheap, there is microscopic risk to the customer in terms of financial costs. Even though the iPad is a fairly new gadget, there are a good range of options for 3G owners to go for. These are sure to growth as time goes by and networks seek want does and does not request for retrial to users.

DivX and Movie Downloading - What, How, and Why?

Most films that are downloaded at present, are in the DivX Format, and by using this formula of compression/decompression, a Movie can typically be compressed to about one tenth of its customary size and downloaded without noticeable loss of ability to a users Pc.
Here it can be stored on a Hard Drive or burnt onto a Cd/Dvd and viewed on a DivX compatible Media Player.

Due to the gigantic popularity of Movie Download networks, DivX has come to be a very favorite video compression technology (it was initially derived from Mpeg-4) ,and is doing for video what Mp3 did for music.

1gb

In practise DivX is used in the form of codec software,(a codec is a compressor/decompressor).

When a DivX encoded Movie is played out from its warehouse media (Dvd/Cd/Hard Drive),it is decompressed by the DivX software and relayed on to a DivX compatible Media Player such as Windows Media Player for Viewing.

For example,a Movie containing any Gigabytes of data can be compressed to any hundred Megabytes of data, and downloaded via the internet to a Pc in about 2 hours using a typical 512kb Dsl connection, this compares to about 20hrs for an uncompressed Movie!

How to Upgrade Your Netbook's Memory From 1Gb to 2Gb of Ram

If you have started seeing at upgrading the Ram in your netbook to 2Gb then you have probably looked colse to at some forums and read user reviews and found that you are more confused now than when you started.

You might have seen terms like cl, 667 or 800Mhz and non-Ecc that made you wonder which type of memory that you needed. Well these numbers are all very important, and only obvious ones are compatible with your netbook. The best-selling and highest rated netbook memory is the Crucial 2Gb stick so I'll adress that singular brand, but this applies to all brands.

1gb

The first thing that you should know is that roughly all modern netbooks (well 95% of them along with Asus, Acer, etc) use the Atom processor which has a front-side bus speed of 667Mhz (for the N280, the N270 is 533Mhz). This is where the memory has to trip through in order for the processor to use it. This tells us that even if you get memory that is listed at 800Mhz it will not help anything, because in order to use it the computer has to underclock it to 667 (or 533)Mhz and some computers don't like to do this.

Another prominent thing to make sure is that the Ram you're seeing at is non-Ecc, and also of policy 200 pin So-Dimm. This basically just means that it will fit your netbook or laptop.

The third thing we need to look at is Cl, or cs latency. This is basically how fast the Ram itself can operate, or the delay time. The lower the cs latency amount the better. There are 2 top-selling types of Crucial Ram which you will probably see if you look it up and one is 800Mhz with a cl=6 while the other is 667Mhz with a cl=5.

Their prices are only a merge of dollars apart and most habitancy would get the 800Mhz reasoning it is faster, but no ifs ands or buts after the computer underclocks it to 667Mhz then the second one is faster because it has a smaller cs latency. That is the one I went with and I have had no problems, and I would say colse to a 50% improvement in speed and apps.

Now that you know which type of Ram to get here's a tutorial on how to install it.

Step 1: get the right Ram. Igot the Crucial 2Gb 667Mhz stick for from Amazon.

Step 2: turn off computer and remove battery.

Step 3: remove passage door to memory (mine had a small photograph of a ram stick on the door).

Step 4: push 2 small metal tabs away from memory stick

This will cause the memory stick to pop up:

Step 5: pull out 1Gb memory stick and replace with 2Gb stick. Make sure the pins are lined up (it will only go in one way). The Crucial sticker is on the bottom.

Step 6: Push Ram down until metal clips click, replace cover, re-insert battery and boot up computer. If you're running Xp then it will auto-recognize the Ram and no other steps are necessary.

Step 7: Once the computer is booted up hit (windows key+Pause) to bring up the theory properties box and check to make sure that the new memory is recognized.

If it does then you're done, if not you will need to re-boot while hitting F8 repeatedly to bring up the bios, then make your mind up the new Ram from the menu to make the computer identify it. Enjoy.

New builder Makes A compact Phone

New builder Onyx have made the Onyx Liscio which is a very small ageement and quite stylish looking mobile phone. It is quite a bit dissimilar from normal mobiles, it is oval shaped and looks like a cross between a remote control and an Mp3 player. The keypad is set a microscopic strangely in a ring colse to the buttons for your Mp3 player feature, but it does look like it will still be possible to rattle off a text message at a decent speed!

While it is lacking in a few features, I think there will assuredly be a store for it - especially as it should be reasonably cheap for the features it has. The Liscio has an Mp3 player, Fm Radio, Bluetooth and it can be hooked up to your computer by Usb - development it nice and easy to exchange your songs top it. And you will be able to keep a decent whole of songs on it as it has a 128Mb internal memory and will come with a 1Gb memory card to progress the memory.

1gb

Okay so now for the bad bits, the screen is just 1.1", there is no mention of a web browser (probably for the best as you wouldn't of course be able to do much browsing on such a small screen), it doesn't have a camera and the glossy covering is going to be prone to lovely smudges and fingerprints.

So if you are looking for an Mp3 player that you can make a call on - look no added than the Onyx Liscio.

chronicle of Sapphire Vapor-X Hd 5750 1Gb Gddr5 Graphics Card

Introduction

The Radeon 5000 series of graphics cards were rather recently released by Amd/Ati and for the very first time in a join of years, Amd/Ati (hereafter referred to as only Amd) is back in the carrying out lead. Nvidea will release their next generation of graphics cards rather soon but no date is set and very exiguous data about it has leaked to the press.

1gb

Just a join of weeks back Amd released the 5850 and the 5870 graphics cards which were very well received in reviews and by consumers. I did a divulge of an Asus 5850 card myself.

Just a join of weeks later Amd release the Hd 5970 which is a dual Gpu card with the code name "Hemlock", a very mighty and costly card. You can check out reviews at testseek.com on it. Here's the current lineup from Amd:

I already discussed the news with the Radeon 5000 series in my Asus Hd 5850 divulge so I'm not going to repeat everything again. Suffice to say, the new generation has some new great characteristics. First, the chips are made in the new 40nm technology which promises lower power consumption and less heat. Secondly, the Ati EyeFinity technology makes it possible to connect up to three monitors to each card which means a total of 6 monitors in CrossFireX. Other prominent characteristics are the Ati Stream (Gpu acceleration), Open Cl (Api for processing in parallel Gpu-Cpu) and Directx 11 support.

Engineering Specifications: Sapphire Vapor-X Hd5750 1Gb Ddr5

Ok, sufficient is enough; let's have a look at the specifications of the Sapphire Hd 5750 Vapor-X 1Gb Ddr5:

Sapphire 5750 Hd Steam 1Gb Ddr5

Gpu Juniper Pro (Radeon Hd 5870)

Supported technologies DirectX 11, DirectX 10.1n, Ati Power Play, Ati Avivo, Dxva 1,0 & 2,0, Open Gl 3,2 (G.), Dolby True Hd and Dts-Hd Audio Masters, Ati Stream, Ati Eyefinity.

First Impressions: 5750 Sapphire Vapor-X Hd 1Gb Ddr5

On the box Sapphire emphasizes the Vapor-X technology and all the new Amd technologies discussed above.

The card is secured in a card board box and enclosed by the usual anti static plastic bag.

The included accessories are: a manual; a Cd with drivers and utilities; the application "ArcSoft SimHd"; a coupon to download the Dirt2 game (supports DirectX 11); 2 molex to 6 pin Pcie adapter cables; a Dvi-Vga adapter and a CrossFireX bridge.

In Detail: Sapphire Vapor-X Hd 5750 Vapor-X 1Gb Ddr5

The card itself literally looks impressive with its weighty cooling solution. I have had the chance to see models of the 5750 from quite a few manufacturers and the Sapphire card comes out on top.

The cooling explication occupies a duplicate slot which may be a disadvantage because this card must be rated as a medium range card and many users prefer singular slot cards in this segment. Amd/Ati sets the widespread rules from which the manufacturers can build their cards and they often leave rather small margins which I guess must be the fancy why I have yet to see a 5750 singular slot card.

The technology used by the cooling theory Vapor-X has its origins in the aerospace industry. The cooling liquid, (in this case water) becomes steam on a hot surface (the Gpu) and the resulting steam is condensed when it comes in touch with a colder surface which turns the steam into liquid again and returns to the hot surface again and so the process repeats itself. Sapphire claims that the Vapor-X theory is much more sufficient than the reference cooling system, up to 7 degrees.

In the right hands, less heat means less noise. And this is also another characteristic of the Vapor-X system.

In order to help the Vapor-X theory to cool the liquid that circulates in its interior, Sapphire has installed an 80mm fan which is perfectly integrated with the black plastic cover. One of the sides of the plastic cover holds the Sapphire logo which glows blue when the theory is running. Check out the image below to see what I'm talking about.

The "Black Diamond" condensers which caused some buzz in the commerce are included on this card. The aluminum polymer in these condensers is superior to the one used one in "normal" aluminum condensers. Agreeing to Sapphire, these condensers are 25% more power sufficient than normal condensers.

The card has an extra 6 pin Pcie power connector as you can see from the image below.

The 5750 actual has two CrossFireX connections although due to the inefficiency of the Catalyst drivers, it is not recommended to install more than two cards.

The memory units are illustrated on the Pcb of this card. They are four high capability Hynix Gddr5 chips.

There are four video exits on this card, two approved Dvi-I; a Hdmi and a DisplayPort. This should satisfy the needs of even the most demanding users. The card is only 185 mm long and thus fits in most cases.

Here are screen shots of my test theory configuration:

Benchmarking Tests

Sadly I received this card a exiguous too late to be able to test it on my old test theory on which I have made many graphics card tests. This means I will have to annotation on the numbers without having any real references to results from old tests. I'll try to be as objective as possible.

It's not a secret that Amds cards often get surprisingly high scores in the FutureMark benchmarking programs (3D Mark 06 and 3D Mark Vantage). And this time was no irregularity as you can see from the graphs above.

The Unigine tests of the DirectX 10 and Direct 11X was challenging to me because of the results I got with the same tests on the Asus Hd5850 card a join of weeks back. One of the main marketing points of the DirectX 11 is that it is supposed to be much faster than its predecessor. With the Hd 5850 I got the opposite results and as you can see from the graphs above, the same goes for the 5750 card. Obviously Amd are having troubles here. Hopefully we will see improvements with the release of new Catalyst drivers.

Gaming I

The carrying out of the Radeon Hd 5750 is spectacular. It is able to verbalize a high Fps rate with all the games in this first series. It had no problems when I beefed up the resolution and turned on filters. The fact that it includes 1Gb of Gddr5 with a bandwidth of 108 Gb/s must be what finally keeps the smoothness in the games going even with filters on.

Gaming Ii

In the second battery of games which includes the most demanding games, the limitations of the Hd 5750 comes to light. Although it doesn't preclude us from enjoying the games altogether, it is clear that this is a mid range card. In favor of Hd 5750 it is indispensable to say that even the incredibly mighty Hd 5850 had some troubles with these games with all the settings at max. Considering that the Hd 5850 has duplicate the amount of stream processors compared to the Hd5750 it is fair to say that the Hd 5750 is a very potent card.

Overclocking, Cooling And Power Consumption

The release of the Hd 5750 brings power to the medium range segment. Up till now, I haven't said much about its overclocking abilities but reports from other reviews and forums have been positive. Therefore I was very eager to test a Hd 5750 card myself and see of the overclocking possible literally was as good as I had heard. I cannot deny that I got even happier when I learnt that I would be able to test a Hd 5750 with the Vapor-X technology.

Indeed, the overclocking capacity of this card is high. Check out the following screen shots which I obtained without modifying voltages but by only using Catalyst control Center.

After having tested innumerable combinations, I received a carport configuration at 860 Mhz for the Gpu and 1345 Mhz for the memories. This means an increase of the default numbers of 23% for the Gpu and 17% for the memories (percentages was calculated based on the values for the reference model with 700 Mhz for the Gpu and 1150 Mhz for the memories).

The Vapor-X cooling theory obviously does a splendid job. In the following graph you can see the temperatures when the card is in Idle and Full Load modes. The Idle temperatures were measured after the theory had been running for half an hour without any load. The Full Load numbers were taken after the theory had been in full load (using Furmark 1.7) for a half an hour. The room temperature was 17ËsC.

The Vapor-X technology clearly does a lot to keep the temperatures down. It was a long time ago I saw these low numbers at full load. I say it again; the Vapor-X does a great job.

The noise level is all the time hard to talk about since it's a very subjective thing. The fan can be set manually or automatic. While my overclocking the fan was set to regulating itself and it rotated at 50% of the max speed. I think that the noise it made on these levels ware perfectly Ok but when it goes above it becomes noticeable and somewhat annoying.
