Cat5 vs Cat5E vs Cat6

Here is our concept on choosing the right kind of network cable:
Cat5 = If you plan on running at most 100 Mbps Cat5e = If you plan on running at 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) Cat6 = If you plan on running at 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) or more. Cat6 is great if you are in areas that have lots of interference like near power lines, lights, manufacturing equipment, or a long length 1000 Mbps (Gigabit) run. We suggest that you run at least Cat5e or Cat6 cable in the walls Cat5e are great for patch cables from the patch panel to the switch or from the computer to the wall jack We very rarely use Cat5 cable anymore. For most applications the Cat5E 350Mhz network cables are best. They will run up to 1 Gig and are not as high-priced as Cat 6 cables. Cat 6 cables are great for "future proofing" your installation. They are rated to carry network speeds above 1000 Mbps (Gigabit). Cat5E 100Mhz are rated to only run up to 100Mbps networks but are inexpensive.
The above statements are the concept of the Networkcablesonline.com and do not report the explication for every situation. There are exceptions to these statements and a expert should be consulted prior to making a major network cabling decision. Please visit http://www.networkcablesonline.com for more data about Cat5, Cat5E, and Cat6 cables. [http://www.networkcablesonline.com/network-cables-c-59.html]

How Much Ram Do You Need?

Your Ram or random way memory will by far resolve the speed of which your main programs will load and run on your engine and also your game loading time so if you are a gamer or you are considering execution on your personal computer than you need to select wisely when it comes to your Ram.

What you need to first think is the type of engine you are finding for and the requirements you have for your personal computer and for your memory. However, to the inquire "how much Ram do I need?" Probably the best rejoinder would be as much as my pockets can carry. You can never have sufficient Ram however you can form an image about how much you would need to get the job done.

1gb

For older operating systems like Windows 2000 or Windows Xp a decent estimate of Ram to run your programs smoothly would be from 256 to 512 Mb or more. The main recommended estimate for Xp is 1Gb Ram and this way you should not have any problems.

For operating systems such as Windows Vista you need to throw a bit more money in your personal computer as this operating theory requires more due to it's good graphical properties and program platform. A decent estimate would be 1Gb Ram however this will barely pass you through. For a good gaming palpate you need a minimum of 3 Gb Ram and if you want to play the newest releases you will have to get even more then that.

Again for a computer the only thing that will restrict your Ram estimate will be the estimate of slots you have on your motherboard. The best rejoinder I could give you for the inquire " how much Ram do I need " is as much as your computer can handle.

Laptop Memory Upgrades - 5 Ways They'll improve Your Laptop

Laptop memory upgrades are just the ticket, if you want your laptop to run smoother and faster. The question with laptops is what we want to do with them (streaming video, watch online television, make our own dvd's, play war games-you know stuff that requires a lot of power) is often just beyond the power of the machine. So, sometimes your laptop contact is not all that it's cracked up to be. There's an easy fix for this, in most cases. And that fix is laptop memory upgrades.

Computers have two sorts of memories, the Ram, or random passage memory, and the hard drive. The hard drive is where your laptop shop your applications software and also your files. YouTube videos that you downloaded, pictures of your family you uploaded from your camera, the spreadsheets from your work, that proposal you were working on during your last flight-all that stuff is on the hard drive. When you decree to certainly look at the pictures from your trip to the beach last summer on your laptop, your computer goes to the hard drive and fetches the picture and reads it into the Ram. I'm sure you can see how a bigger Ram would be very useful. That's what laptop memory upgrades are all about.

1gb

There are other hardware components you could choose for upgrading, so why should you go with laptop memory upgrades first? Well, price for one. For about , you can add 1Gb of Ram to your laptop. And here's what that 1Gb will do:

Upgrading your laptop with just 1Gb of Ram will enhance the doing of your whole machine. You can also run more programs at once without your laptop locking up. That's one great benefit of laptop memory upgrades.

You can accomplish faster processing times with your computer by adding memory that's faster. Ddr laptop memory processes twice as fast as single data rate. So, not only adding more memory, but faster memory as one of your laptop memory upgrades will have a huge impact in performance.

Planning and choosing Parts For Your Carputer Build

A car computer (carputer) is an awesome principles to setup in your car. Not only can a carputer play music and videos, but you can also setup sailing software, browse the web, download files, or do anything the Pc you're using can do. However, many population don't know where to start, or they don't have the first clue as to what a carputer principles consists of.

Here are some general tips and suggestions to get you started on your build. I know that when I was starting out, I had to learn the hard way by studying Mp3car.com's forums. By the way, if you want to see carputer setups, want more info, or anything carputer related, Mp3car.com is pretty much the defacto resource.

1gb

Motherboard/Cpu:

Most population pick a mini-Itx form factor motherboard. Mini-Itx motherboards quantum approximately 7" x 7", normally come with a Cpu, and consume less power than their full size Atx counterparts, which make them great candidates for carputer usage. Mini-Itx motherboards come in lots of different configurations; there are some boards for Intel, some for Amd, and some are Via based. Some boards can handle up to Core 2 Quad core Cpu's, but expect to pay mucho $$$ if you want that level of performance.

For carputer usage, you're most likely not going to be encoding media, playing games, or running tank terrain simulations. Popular choices are the Via C3 and C7 mini-Itx based motherboards, but they are being phased out by the growing popularity of the Intel Atom boards. Intel Atom processors are widely used in netbooks, but their low power requirements and low heat build up make them exquisite candidates for carputer usage.

A very popular, best bang for your buck motherboard would be the Intel D945Gclf2, in my opinion. Not only does the board run cool, it also sports the dual core Atom processor, which in my experiences, is more than fast sufficient for carputer usage. Also, at less than 0 for both the Cpu and motherboard, the deal is too good to pass up.

Power Supply:

The easiest, ill free solution is to use an thoughprovoking Dc-Dc power supply. thoughprovoking power supplies have integrated startup/shutdown controllers that can sense and power your computer when you turn your car on/off. This is very important, because if the power supplies were "dumb", you would have to manually turn the carputer on/off every time to enter and exit the car. See how that can get annoying?

Intelligent Dc-Dc power supplies normally have a whole of wires to be connected to your car's electrical system. This includes, at the bare minimum, a power wire, ground wire, and a remote wire. The remote wire is wired to a 12v source that only becomes active when your key is in the ignition. The most base usage is to use the remote wire from your Cd player/head unit, that way, when the Cd player turns on, so does the carputer.

As far as brands go, I would go with Opus. While they are a small more costly than the M2/M3/M4 Atx power supplies, they are of higher quality. I had an older M2 Atx that would only put out 10.9 - 11.4 volts on the 12v rail (not good!). Since then, I supplanted it with an Opus 120w and it's been running strong since 2006. I've also heard good things about the Pico Psu lineup. Pico Psus are very small and join together directly to your Atx power plug on the motherboard taking up very small space. I would use a Pico Psu if you're extremely cramped for space, like in a glove box build.

Hard Drive and optical Drive:

2.5" notebook hard drives are the most Popular because they are small, use small power, and are rugged. 2.5" hard drives are built to take the daily vibrations and shakes it would experience from being in a laptop, so it would make sense to use in a carputer where you'll be running over potholes, hopping curbs, etc. I've been using an old 2.5" 80Gb Ide for at least 3 years now. I've dropped the hard drive complicated times and have it mounted pretty badly, but it's still running strong! 3.5" hard drives need much more power, and power is precious when we're talking about small, 90-120 watt power supplies.

Optical drives; who uses optical drives anymore? The only time I used an optical drive was for the initial operating principles install. Even still, you could probably get away with installing your Os from a Usb flash drive. As for daily use, I warrant an optical drive would receive approximately zero usage. Your music should be on your hard drive and a Usb flash drive can be used to replacement files. The only thing I can see an optical drive being useful for is to watch Dvds. However, how often are you unmistakably going to sit in your car and watch a Dvd? The only time you can think of doing so is either when you're driving, or when you're stopped. If you're driving, do you unmistakably think it's a good idea to watch a movie on the way to work? If you're stopped, wouldn't you rather watch the Dvd on your big screen in the house? At this point in our technological evolution, optical drives are becoming more and more of a novelty.

Memory:

Get the cheapest, highest capacity you can find. I have 1Gb in my carputer and it runs pretty quickly on a full Windows Xp setup (I'll get to this later). 2Gb would be even better, but it's not unmistakably needful and I doubt you'll see a speed increase.

Enclosure/Case:

Despite what you may hear or think, a case is fully optional as long as you have your components mounted somewhat securely (meaning they won't bounce colse to like crazy while driving). Mini-Itx cases do exist and can be found at market like Mini-box, Mp3car, and Newegg. If you have the space, a slightly larger (but cheaper) micro-Atx case could be used instead.

Here's some proof to backup my claim that a case is optional. I've been running my setups in the glovebox like this for over three years with zero failures. The Cpu temperature settles at colse to 50-60c depending on the surface temperature. The hard drive is mounted to top of the glove compartment using duplicate sided adhesive. The motherboard and power furnish plainly sit on a peice of cardboard.

Operating System:

My advice is to run a full version of Windows Xp instead of a "custom" Xp build such as TinyXp. TinyXp is basically a stripped down Windows Xp setup which takes up less disk space, less memory, and loads a bit faster than a regular Windows Xp install. However, I've noticed that TinyXp isn't exquisite and is by all means; of course not for everyone. Drivers are stripped out, services are missing, and in my experience, it's not the most garage Os either. Do you unmistakably want perform developed troubleshooting for some odd agenda you want to work? Save yourself the ill and setup a full version of Windows Xp. Even on just 1Gb of memory (2Gb seems to be the standard now), Xp runs silky smooth.

Then we come to the issue of either to fully shutdown the computer or to have it hibernate when you turn off the car. Hibernation basically takes all the data present and market it on the hard drive when the computer is turned off. Then, when the computer is turned on again, the data is restored from the hard drive and you're back to exactly where you were before you turned the car off. As nice as hibernation sounds, it's not very trustworthy in my experience. My hibernation image becomes corrupted every 10-20 or so startup/shutdown cycles. So, do yourself a favor and fully startup/shutdown for every session. A carputer on a full setup of Windows Xp doesn't take long to boot anyways, plus, it saves you a whole lot of ill in the future.

Front End:

Using a front end is fully up to you. The front end is basically a finger amiable agenda which contains all your media controls, media player, etc. It pretty much makes your carputer look like an Alpine or Pioneer duplicate Din touchscreen unit. The two most Popular front ends are Road Runner and Centrafuse. Both are great players, but both have their negatives.

Road Runner is open source (free), but is a pain to setup correctly, and in my opinion, is too cluttered and doesn't look as good as Centrafuse. Centrafuse, however, is not free, but it's extremely easy to setup and works great right out of the box.

The Sony Bdp-S550 1090p Blu-Ray Player

The Sony Bdp-S550 1080p Blu-ray player is often known as the big brother of the very popular SonyBdp-S350 model. Like it's 'younger brother', the S550 has all the newest Blu-ray features and a tiny extra for the added . For starters, it runs on Bd 2.0, which is the newest and final (at least for now) format for Blu-ray movies.

The configuration and interface of the Sony Bdp-S550 1080p Blu-ray player is very similar to previous Sony Dvd players. It has the Emmy-winning Xross Media Bar that allows users to favorably way the assorted applications on the Blu-ray player. If you have a Sony Bravia Lcd or Plasma Tv, both the machines will work well together with the Bravia Sync function.

1gb

The Sony Bdp-S550 1080p Blu-ray player also has a Ethernet port that allows the motor to way the internet. It has a Bd-Live highlight that allows you to go online to way and download the newest previews, extra scenes and exclusive features. The blu-ray player also has 1Gb in memory that allows for more blu-ray movie features.

Since the S350 model also has most of the features above, are there any good reasons to buy the more costly Sony Bdp-S550 1080p Blu-ray player? One of the major differences that can be found in the S550 is that is has a 7.1 analog audio output. Some older audio receiver would only hold analog audio outputs. The S550 is a good buy if you have an older and very costly analog only audio receiver. Otherwise the S350 is just a good.

As an example if you find you have slot taken by a 1gb memory stick and still have 1 slot ready you should install in that free slot a memory module of equal amount not greater or less equaling to a total of 2gb memory. You could do this an additional one way by removing the 1gb memory stick and placing 1x2gb memory leaving an additional one slot free in hereafter for an added 2gb stick. The choice is totally up to you. Can You Run Files Automatically From Usb Memory Sticks

For many fellowships an speculation in branded flash drives for self-promotion is "Ok" in so far as it goes. The benefits of giving away memory sticks with your logo or brand printed on them and then giving them away are well known but does it make sense to give them away without development use of the data warehouse capacity that is an potential part of the stick?

More and more fellowships are pre-loading data on their promotional sticks because it's a great way to cheaply and nothing else but distribute large amounts of sales and marketing material. Lets face it if you've purchased memory sticks as a give-away it makes no sense to print, transport and distribute loads of physical sales brochures, press releases, copies of slides etc. Load them onto the memory stick. Pre-loading data makes economic and environmental sense and the more you load onto the stick the best the cost advantage case to buy the memory stick will be.

1gb

Pre-loading data does call for you to be organised. The cheapest way to get the data loaded onto the stick is while the manufacturing process but this means your data will need to be ready nearby the time your place your order with your supplier. If you can't get your data ready in time (and sometimes you're going to be reliant on 3rd parties, particularly if you're pre-loading speaker notes for a conference) then don't despair. It is potential to pre-load the data after develop just expect to pay a minute more for it to be done.

The maximum number of data you pre-load is minute by the number of warehouse space on the memory sticks you're buying. So if you are buying 1Gb sticks you could load up to nearby 950Mb of data. You won't have access to the full 1Gb because memory sticks need some space to generate the file structures and data tables for the data you're loading.

There are also practical considerations to think as well along with how you get the data to your victualer and you victualer gets the data to their factory in China. Small files can be emailed or Ftp'd but very large files may need to be supplied on a Cd or Dvd and then sent by carrier to the factory. This adds to the time you need to allow for branded memory sticks to be produced

Something else to think is either any of the files you pre-load onto the sticks should run automatically when the Usb stick used. This can be a great way of launching an application, presentation slides or movie files. It nothing else but will ensure that the user of the flash drive not only sees, but also is forced to interact with your content. Before you commit to the use of auto run files there are some leading things to consider:

1) Autorun files have to be loaded onto the flash drives while the manufacturing process.

2) Autorun files cannot be deleted by the user.

3) Autorun files can be considered "intrusive" and "annoying" because they get in the way of the general day-to-day use of the memory stick. Remember they the autorun application will have to load and inaugurate every time the stick is used and this can put citizen off using the memory stick to save and carry their own data on.

4) If used on enterprise network the autorun might not work because some fellowships don't allow autorun files (executables) to run on Pc's attached to their network.

5) If an autorun file is only convenient for Win Pc's (Xp, Vista, Seven etc.) then the content may not run on a Mac - appropriate testing is advised.

So in summary, branded memory sticks are a great promotional product, pre-loading data on the stick is an excellent and cost sufficient idea and in some condition autoruns add value but use them sparingly and be aware of the potential issues.
